[Finished] CloneQube is a remake of the game “I.Q Intelligent Qube” released in 1997 for the playstation one. The game was in development for about 7 months until it was finished in the summer of 2019. The game is still being updated in 2021.
The game features the same mechanics as the original. The new feature here is the custom level editor. I know the original also has one, but I wanted the ability to create a stage as big as you wanted without limits. I was successful in creating a level editor, but due to bad optimization the game starts lagging, if you made levels that were very large. However, it was a necessary lesson in coding. The faster you implement something means that something will be slower in the future.
This was also the first time I had to create original sound effects. All the sounds, models and textures had to be remade, since I don’t think ripping them from the original playstation one disc is possible.
I had never before attempted to make music and my first finished pieces were pretty terrible.
Kurushi Customs was very fun to create and I think it looks rather similar to the original game (of course the original is still much better).
